The  role of puskesmas in the fight against COVID-19 : JejakBlog

West Java Provincial Health Office’s role in fighting Covid-19

The West Java Provincial Health Office has made various efforts to fight the hitherto-undefeated COVID-19 pandemic as West Java is  also one  of the largest areas infected with the coronavirus   .   Even just a week before  this, the number of  victims  had increased.

The highest number of  cases have been reported in the Bekasi region, based on  the West Java Covid Information and Coordination Centre.   However, the highest level of recovery is also seen in Bekasi.   There are still many residents  in West Java in the treatment of Covid cases.   Isolation will be conducted for those who test positive.

You can do the isolation process in the hospital or at your own home.   For these virus cases, it is  said that it will end if the patient recovers or dies. In West Java too  , there are a lot of cases where people are dying of Covid.

The nature of positive cases may also change.  It depends on how it is handled. Therefore, the government and the health office in West Java  are also making various efforts to reduce the number of deaths of Covid-19 victims.   So far the role of health workers is required.

West Java health workers  have already been vaccinated

In order to reduce the number of deaths or reduce this Covid virus attack, the relevant West Java Provincial Health Office government will also do a lot of things.   For example, this new person  is getting vaccinated.   Of course, in Indonesia, the vaccine came out, but for recipients,  it’s still not everything.

Nearly 80 percent of health workers in West Java alone have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Sinovac vaccine.     The vaccines received from the government are still  not reaching all health workers  in  West Java.

This is because each person gets two doses.  So that even if it is lacking, the West Java government also tries to accept it immediately so that it can be used.  The West Java Provincial Health Office will also vaccinate its residents.   While  some things may interfere with the vaccination  process  , they can be overcome immediately.

They will have to wait again for the number of vaccines needed for west Java residents because  the population living in the area is very high.   In fact, this number is the largest in Indonesia.  So that the distribution of vaccines will also be done in a phased manner.   But despite this, everyone gets a breast milk vaccine.

In addition,  another issue arising from the administration of this vaccine is due to  the pros and cons of the  type injected.     Many have turned down the vaccine as there is no MUI and BPOM label.  However, the issuance of legitimacy  from  both companies eventually made  West Java residents want to be injected.

The  role of puskesmas in the fight against COVID-19

In combating this coronavirus case, the West Java Provincial Health Office and  its government have also started creating a program that is an integrated and champion health center.  At  the beginning of  setting up the event to combat  the coronavirus, the government distributed a large number of health workers.

A health centre that was earlier relied upon to handle Covid cases has also been decided.  But now  health workers in dedicated health centres have been brought together to take care of Covid victims.   So that eventually it  takes care of other diseases, which  makes vaccination unfit for implementation.

Meanwhile, to deal with the cases of coronavirus victims, it’s really a unique and intensive thing.   So that health workers in previous puskesmas cannot function properly.   So a fresh  programme  called the Integrated Health Centre has been created to manage Covid cases  exclusively  .  The program was  designed by the Government of West Java.

With the placement of new health workers at the health centre, the  government hopes to increase its  functioning.  The role of the  West Java Provincial Health Office  in making this program a success  is also very important.   Meanwhile, the West Java government  also needs to keep a large number of medical staff in Puskema.

This method is one of the  innovations undertaken by  the West Java government to overcome this coronavirus pandemic by optimizing the role of puskesmas   to manage it.   Therefore, there are also  more and more human resources to successfully implement the  program.

Optimize integrated puskesmas and champion

As regards integrated and champion puskesmas or puspa, this is a new method from the  regional government and the West Java Provincial Health Office  to fight the Covid-19 pandemic  . This is done by optimizing the role of puskesmas. In some areas West Java has been implemented.

Through this PUSPA program, the government provides cooperation between professions to work in various fields. It will be used to improve the application of tracing, testing and treatment. Moreover, it will also be used to the 3M maximum level set by the government.

It will also be implemented to maximise the management of the spread of coronavirus. The purpose of creating this puspa program is to have community loyalty in the application of 3 M  .  Earlier, health workers who were asked to take care of Covid had also worked on other issues outside the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, the  main task of the medical officer is to take care of Covid in accordance with the regulations of  the West Java Provincial Health Office to overcome the problem of corona. They have been asked to know about the people who have been really exposed to the virus and report to the respective health center.

The PUSPA team will also do the task of tracking the residents of close contact. Because earlier, there were not many cases that were successfully tracked. So  it needs optimization to increase the performance of the program that the West Java government has previously done.   Puspa is distributed to all areas of West Java.

Mobile Posendu for Red Zone

Amid this coronavirus pandemic, the government and  the West Java Provincial Health  Office  are also continuing to give importance to the health of their people. In fact, you still have to implement the protocols laid down by the government. However, especially for areas in the Red Zone, these basic health activities will be conducted around.

The health workers along with the concerned parties will also conduct  a mobile pose  to reduce deaths due to other things. This health programme is conducted by medical staff along with relevant equipment by reaching out to people’s homes directly.  In terms of its own implementation, it will be conducted in accordance with the existing protocols.

The working technique is adjusted only as per the requirements. Generally, posyanda is done by gathering in one place. However, by moving around it, the residents will stay only at home, after which they will be directly visited by west Java regional medical authorities.  So that the implementation is also in line with what is actually required.

The current Covid-19 pandemic, which is still busy, has faced problems for many sectors. But now that protocols are in place, which have reduced deployment. With the help of government regulations and the community following  the West Java Provincial Health Office, deaths cases are also declining and recovery cases are on the rise.
